fornkris This album sounds a bit more rough and raw to me, compared to "Móðuharðindin" for example. But thats totally fine. Really enjoyable Dark Ambient.

H.L. The minimalistic arrangements of "Ísavetur" consist of whispering voices moaning cryptic evocations or passing by like fading ghosts. You hear klings and klongs of various bells, monotonous drums and several other industrial-like sounds and reverberations. But you have to listen carefully and concentrated. Put on your headphones, close your eyes and enjoy an excellent dark meditation!

If not, these sounds will not touch you more than the unspecific noise of a motorway in the distance.

Sonny92 Highly evocative album of dark ambient soundscapes that suggest images of forbidden Lovecraftian rituals in the ancient and forgotten corners of the land. Moving and emotional. Favorite track: IIII.

BuhBuh I can't wait for the rest of the album. Dark Ambient at its best!!

Visualize yourself, adrift in a world where an opaque veil of volcanic ash obscures the cold rays of the sun; allowing only a scant few to even graze the rock and soil of nature’s surface. Lost, you traverse the bleak landscape when you begin to hear a subtle drumming in the distance. Intrigued, you move towards the sound. The drumming, subtle at first but steadily growing, louder and louder; the beats of your heart already matching its rhythm…

Ísavetur , the latest offering from Disa of DRAGURINN, is more of an experience than it is a musical album – it is the soundtrack of a shamanic ritual; one that will evoke a sensation of longing and despair in its audience, whilst simultaneously capturing its full attention. Draugurinn’s ritualistic dark ambient takes us down a path where few have trod; through the mist, into the nameless unknown.

Ísavetur marks the continuation of 2012’s Móðuharðindin - an album wrought in the sign of fire, and one that told the tale of the eruption of Icelandic volcano Lakagigar, the aftermath of which led to a drop in global temperature that lasted for several years. Thus, to continue what started in 2012, the next natural step was to work with the element of ice; a contrast to fire, but one equal in strength.
